Teen Shot During Jewellery Robbery in Georgetown

A 19-year-old Campbellville resident was wounded and robbed of two gold chains worth $1.6 million by armed men on a motorcycle in Kitty on October 5.

A teenager from Campbellville was shot in the left foot and robbed of jewellery valued at approximately $1.6 million during an armed attack in Kitty, Georgetown, on Monday, October 5.

The 19-year-old was walking with a group along Owen Street when two unidentified men arrived on an XR motorcycle. The rear passenger carried a handgun.

After stopping the group and ordering them to remain still, the suspects encountered resistance when the teen tried to run. The armed man fired multiple shots toward him. A bullet struck the victim's left foot, dropping him to the ground. The attackers then seized two gold-coloured chains and fled on the motorcycle.

The wounded teenager received treatment at a private medical facility in stable condition, according to investigators.

Authorities have obtained and are examining CCTV footage from the area as their investigation continues. No one has been arrested so far.
