Privacy policy
What Virgin Islands Everything collects, why, and how to opt out. Last updated 8 October 2026.
Who we are
Virgin Islands Everything is an independent news website published from Road Town, Tortola, British Virgin Islands. You can reach us through the contact page.
What we collect
Reading the site needs no account. Our servers keep standard access logs (the page requested, the time, your browser type and your IP address) for up to 30 days to keep the site running and to stop abuse. We count page views in aggregate; those counts do not identify you.
Reactions, polls and comments. When you react to a story or vote in a poll we store a random identifier in a cookie so each reader counts once. Comments are checked by an editor before they appear; we keep the nickname and text you submit and the time it was sent.
Newsletter. If you sign up we store your email address, when you confirmed, and whether our emails were opened. Every email has an unsubscribe link and unsubscribing removes you at once.
Breaking news alerts. If you turn on alerts, your browser gives us an anonymous push subscription. Turning alerts off in your browser or on the site deletes it.
Tips, enquiries and videos you send us. We keep what you send so we can follow up and so we can show, if ever needed, where a story came from. If you send a news tip, your identity stays private: we never publish or share who sent it.
Cookies and advertising
We use cookies for the features above and for measuring how the site is used. We use Google Analytics to understand which stories are read; Google processes that data under its own privacy policy.
We show advertising. Some of it is sold directly by us; some is served by Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and other sites on the internet. You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, and you can read how Google uses data from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. Other vendors may also use cookies, web beacons or IP addresses to serve and measure ads; you can opt out of many of them at aboutads.info.
Embedded content
Some stories embed videos or posts from Facebook, YouTube, TikTok or Instagram. Those players are loaded from the platform concerned, which may set its own cookies and collect data as if you had visited it directly.
Sharing
We do not sell personal information. We share data only with the services that run the site (hosting, email delivery, analytics and advertising, as described above) and when the law requires it.
Your choices
You can block or delete cookies in your browser; the site still works, though reactions and polls will not remember you. To unsubscribe from the newsletter use the link in any email. To have a comment, tip or other submission removed, or to ask what we hold about you, contact us and we will reply within a few days.
Children
The site is written for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
When this policy changes we update the date at the top of this page.
