Governor Daniel Pruce has signed a deportation order removing Devender Chitnarine from the British Virgin Islands. Chitnarine was convicted of Assault Occasioning Actual Bodily Harm.

The removal order, Statutory Instrument 2026 NO. 61, took effect on October 15, 2026, and appeared in the Official Gazette five days later. The governor, following consultation with the Chief Immigration Officer, determined that allowing Chitnarine to remain would be detrimental to the public interest.

Police records show Chitnarine faced charges for the assault on November 27, 2023. The deportation paperwork did not reveal his nationality.
