A 35-year-old St. Croix resident died from gunshot wounds discovered outside a Christiansted bar in the pre-dawn hours of Saturday, October 24, police said.
Hillman Faucher Jr. lay unresponsive on the ground near The Hide Out Bar on Queen Street at approximately 3:40 a.m. An automated acoustic detection system had picked up a single gunshot in the area and notified the 911 Emergency Call Center. Paramedics rushed him to Governor Juan F. Luis Hospital & Medical Center, where emergency room physicians declared him dead. Family members later confirmed his identity.
The Criminal Investigation Bureau is leading the homicide inquiry. No suspects have been publicly identified, and police have not disclosed a possible motive as of Saturday afternoon.
Faucher had prior contact with law enforcement on the island. In June 2024, federal agents and police detectives stopped him at Henry E. Rohlsen Airport as he attempted to leave following a shooting outside Nirvana Bar & Lounge in the Pan Am Pavilion area of Christiansted. A person allegedly involved with him in that incident was arrested in November 2025 and charged with reckless endangerment and accessory after the fact for allegedly tampering with evidence.
Most recently, in September 2026, the Criminal Investigation Bureau issued a wanted bulletin for Faucher in connection with third-degree assault and firearms violations.
Police are asking anyone who witnessed the shooting or has information about the circumstances to contact the Criminal Investigation Bureau at (340) 778-2211, submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers USVI at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), or call 911.
