The Water and Sewerage Department has ordered residents of West End and Carrot Bay not to use tap water for drinking due to depleted chlorine levels.

The department issued the advisory on October 15, saying the water interruption will remain in place until the distribution lines have been flushed and chlorine residual levels meet required standards.

Residents in the affected areas should seek alternative water sources for consumption until the department confirms the supply is safe. The department apologised for the disruption.
