A land slippage in Dorsetshire Hill has cut water supply to nine communities across St Vincent, the Central Water and Sewerage Authority said in an emergency notice issued on October 8.

The ground movement broke a 6-inch main transmission pipeline that carries water through the Majorca System. The affected areas are Queens Drive, Orange Grove, Trigger Ridge, Sharpes, Green Hill, Sharpes Dale, Upper Dorsetshire Hill, Upper Richmond Hill and Murray's Village.

The CWSA said technical crews were conducting damage assessments on site, with restoration and repair work scheduled for Friday, October 9. The authority expressed regret for the disruption to residents while emergency repairs are underway.
