St. Vincent and the Grenadines is dealing with the aftermath of heavy rainfall that has damaged communities nationwide, with flooding, landslides, fallen trees and blocked roads reported across multiple areas.
The National Emergency Management Organization (NEMO) is working to evaluate the full extent of the damage and coordinate recovery efforts. Acting Director Kenson Stoddard said that several families had to leave their homes in the Buccament Bay area because of the severe weather.
NEMO has received substantial assistance from the Roads, Buildings and General Services Authority (BRAGSA) as the organisation continues its response work.
