A 30-year-old St. Thomas resident has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault and battery, cyberstalking and harassment, and disturbance of the peace following a violent early-morning incident at his girlfriend's Altona residence.
Tamori Skeete appeared before Superior Court Magistrate Judge Simone M. VanHolten-Turnbull on Monday for an Advice of Rights hearing. The magistrate determined there was sufficient evidence to support all charges stemming from the August 25 incident.
According to a police probable cause statement, the woman reported the assault on August 26 after receiving medical care. She told detectives that shortly after 1:00 a.m. on August 25, Skeete texted to say he was heading to her home despite her instructing him not to come. When he arrived and began making noise outside, she let him inside to talk and quiet the disturbance. In her bedroom, she told him their relationship had ended and she wanted to separate.
As she tried to leave the room to ease tensions and leave the house, Skeete became violent. He grabbed her clothing and forcefully gripped her right lower arm, wrist and hand repeatedly with considerable force. She broke free and left the residence; Skeete then departed the property. Later that day, pain and swelling sent her to Schneider Regional Medical Center, where doctors confirmed an acute wrist sprain and swelling.
The woman disclosed to detectives that Skeete carried his licensed firearm during the visit, which made her fear for her safety and that of her young son. She characterised the assault as the latest escalation in a pattern of troubling conduct. Over the five-day span from August 21 to August 25, following an earlier disagreement, Skeete made roughly 94 calls to her phone. He had previously told her that if he could not have her, nobody could, and sent her images of a gun pointed at his head while threatening to take his own life to pressure her to remain in the relationship.
When questioned in a recorded interview on October 2, Skeete confirmed he was at the residence and that he grabbed her hand as she moved toward the door. He said that when she pulled her arm back, she mentioned possibly hitting the wall because of the pain.
Magistrate VanHolten-Turnbull released Skeete on a $1,000 unsecured bond subject to strict conditions. He must turn in his firearm and ammunition to the VIPD Firearms Bureau by 2:00 p.m. on October 5 and cannot possess any weapons. He must stay at least 25 feet away from the victim, report weekly in person to the Office of Probation, and cannot travel outside the St. Thomas-St. John district without written court permission. He is prohibited from drinking alcohol or using controlled substances and must join the Men Terminating Violence program at the Family Resource Center, with proof of enrolment due by October 9.
Skeete's formal arraignment is set for October 23, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. before Magistrate Judge Julie Smith Todman.
