St. Croix Central High School is hosting a Scarlet Soirée Red Gala on Friday, October 23, with ticket sales and sponsorships directed toward student support and school culture programs.
The formal event takes place at 7 p.m. at Starlight Lounge on St. Croix. Attendees will enjoy dinner, live entertainment featuring fire dancers, and both live and silent auctions. The school asks guests to dress in formal red.
Revenue from the evening will fund the school's SPARK initiative, an acronym for Support, Positivity, Achievement, Respect, and Kindness. The programme draws on Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS), a framework aimed at strengthening school culture, improving student conduct and recognising accomplishments.
Under the banner "LOCKED IN: Show Up, Step Up, Level Up," SPARK encourages regular attendance, responsible decision-making and student ownership of academic progress.
Specific projects funded by gala proceeds include creating a SPARK Student Lounge and Rewards Store, launching student recognition and incentive schemes, developing a school mascot, and organising faculty and staff appreciation events.
Principal Andrea Hobson said: "Every student deserves to feel valued, supported, and inspired to succeed. Through SPARK, we are creating a school culture where positive choices are celebrated and excellence is encouraged."
Hobson called on the wider community to participate. "When you support SPARK, you're not simply purchasing a gala ticket, you're investing in a student's future," she added.
Early-bird tickets are priced at $50, with standard door admission at $60. VIP packages run $100 per person or $180 for couples. The school welcomes corporate sponsorships and auction donations.
