The Government of the Virgin Islands is calling for applications to fill three vacant seats on the Land Surveyors Board, a statutory body under the Ministry of Environment, Natural Resources and Climate Change.
One position is available for a member representing the survey industry, while two posts are open for representatives from the building development sector. Applicants must be permanently resident in the territory, with Virgin Islanders and Belongers preferred.
Candidates for the surveyor position must hold a current licence and have been practising as a surveyor in the Virgin Islands for at least four years. They will also need to demonstrate proficiency with AutoCAD, digital mapping software, geographical information systems, global navigational satellite systems, electronic distance measurement tools, drones and hydrographic mapping.
The Board, established under the Land Survey Ordinance, is responsible for examining, licensing and regulating surveyors in the territory. Board members examine applicants seeking licences, maintain a register of licensed surveyors, hear disputes over surveyor fees and vote on matters brought before the Board.
Successful appointees will serve three-year terms and may be reappointed. The role requires regular attendance at Board meetings.
Interested persons should submit a cover letter and curriculum vitae to the Ministry of Environment, Natural Resources and Climate Change at [email protected] by 10 November 2026. Applicants for the surveyor positions must also provide a written nomination from a licensed, practising surveyor in the Virgin Islands.
