A 41-year-old resident of East End has been charged with burglary following an alleged break-in at a bar in the same district in July, police said.

The bar owner discovered the theft the morning after securing the establishment, finding that someone had entered and taken several items. Surveillance footage from the bar reportedly showed a masked man matching the suspect's description inside the premises.

Police obtained additional footage that confirmed the suspect's identity and made an arrest last week. During processing, the man was uncooperative and repeatedly denied the burglary allegations, police said.

Officers also recovered suspected crack cocaine during the arrest. The suspect denied knowledge of the drugs, according to police.

The charge comes as the territory experiences a recent increase in robberies and burglaries.
