Bravo's Real Housewives puts BVI on screens worldwide

Millions of television viewers are getting a glimpse of the British Virgin Islands through Bravo's The Real Housewives of New York City, which devoted two episodes to a cast getaway on Moskito Island during the show's 16th season.

The episodes, "Trouble in Paradise" and "Moskito Madness," aired starting October 6, 2026. Cast member Erika Hammond, whose family operates an estate on the island, organised the trip and appears alongside Carole Radziwill, Sai De Silva, Erin Lichy, Jessel Taank, Hailey Glassman and Daisy Toye.

Production crews from SMBWW Production arrived in Tortola on April 3, 2026 to film the scenes. The British Virgin Islands Tourist Board and Film Commission supported the production team throughout their time in the territory. The footage showcases the islands' turquoise waters, white-sand beaches and upscale lodging options.

Director of Tourism Clive McCoy said the broadcast reaches potential visitors with money to spend on luxury travel. "When viewers watch the ladies arrive on Moskito Island, they are seeing the kind of exclusive, unforgettable experience the British Virgin Islands offers every day," McCoy said. He added that the exposure connects the destination with an audience actively looking for their next high-end holiday.

Film Commissioner Natalie Hodge called the placement a major platform for international promotion. "Having the British Virgin Islands featured on a franchise as widely watched as The Real Housewives is a tremendous opportunity to showcase our islands to millions of viewers," Hodge said. She also noted that hosting such a production demonstrates the territory's capacity to support major television projects.

The Real Housewives appearance extends the BVI's recent television presence, which has included a feature on Discovery Channel's Let's Take It Outside with Misty Wells.
