A contestant on The Price Is Right walked away with a tropical prize in November: a six-night vacation at Anegada Beach Club in the British Virgin Islands.
Myra Watkins earned the getaway during the November 5 episode by playing Squeeze Play, a pricing game that requires contestants to uncover a prize's cost by deleting a single digit from a number shown on screen. She correctly pegged the package at $8,756.
The trip includes airfare to St. Thomas and round-trip water taxi service connecting to the BVI. Anegada Beach Club, situated at Keel Point, features beachfront palapa accommodations, a pool, restaurant and beach access.
Anegada itself draws visitors with its white-sand beaches, clear shallow waters, coral formations and unhurried island pace. The island offers a quieter alternative to more built-up Caribbean resorts.
For the tourism sector, the televised win brings the territory and the resort to millions of viewers across North America. Anegada Beach Club sees the exposure as a chance to introduce international audiences to what the BVI has to offer.
