Two men have been arrested and charged following a police search at a Fat Hogs Bay residence that uncovered 547 kilograms of cocaine, an AR-style rifle, and ammunition.
The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force carried out the operation at approximately 6:30 AM on Tuesday, October 27, acting on a search warrant. Inside the premises, officers found an AR-style rifle loaded with 26 rounds of 5.62 calibre ammunition. Investigators then located 19 duffle bags filled with cocaine, valued at more than $54 million on the street.
Miller Se Quonne Moulon, 34, and Khalifa Turnbull, 26, were at the residence when officers arrived. Both men were taken into custody and face four charges each: possession of a prohibited firearm, unlawful possession of explosives, possession of a controlled drug, and possession of a controlled drug with intent to supply. They remain in police custody awaiting their first appearance in the Magistrate's Court.
Acting Commissioner Richard Ullger highlighted the importance of the seizure in combating organised crime. He said the recovery of the cocaine, firearm and ammunition showed the force's commitment to disrupting criminal networks. "We will continue to pursue those involved in these activities and take decisive action to protect our communities," Ullger added. He also called on the public to share information that could help keep the territory safe.
The police are asking anyone with information about illegal drugs, firearms or criminal activity to contact the RVIPF Intelligence Unit at 368-9512 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 800-8477.
