Authorities have charged a Babonneau resident with two counts of money laundering stemming from the Creators Alliance investment scheme, which collapsed in March 2025 and devastated thousands of Caribbean investors.

Sophia Pelage-David was taken into custody on Monday, November 2, and brought before the First District Court the following day. The court released her on bail of $13,000 cash or suitable surety, with proceedings rescheduled for December 10, 2026.

According to the Financial Intelligence Authority, Pelage-David conducted financial transactions valued at $524,801.30 between January 23, 2024, and July 4, 2025. These transfers are suspected of representing criminal proceeds. Under Section 28(1)(b) of the Money Laundering (Prevention) Act, conviction on such charges carries potential penalties of up to $1 million and/or 15 years in prison.

Pelage-David represents the second defendant in the FIA's ongoing money laundering investigation tied to Creators Alliance. In September 2026, Electra Fernand, based in Massade, Gros Islet, was charged with seven counts of money laundering involving roughly $1.062 million. Fernand was also among six individuals charged in May 2025 for running a virtual asset business without proper licensing.

Creators Alliance functioned as a pyramid-style investment operation across Saint Lucia and the wider region starting around June 2024 before its sudden collapse nine months later. The scheme's failure triggered millions in losses across the Caribbean.

The FIA continues its investigation into money laundering connected to the scheme. Officials have advised the public to be cautious regarding unregulated investment offerings and to obtain independent professional verification before committing funds.
