The British Virgin Islands will host the third edition of Fintech on the Seas from May 31 to June 2, 2027, BVI Finance announced on Thursday. The conference will return to Necker Island in Virgin Gorda.
Junior Minister for Financial Services and Economic Development Lorna G Smith said the event has become central to how the territory showcases itself globally. "Fintech on the Seas brings international decision-makers to our shores and allows them to see firsthand the expertise, infrastructure and commitment that underpin our financial services industry," she said.
Since launching in 2025, the conference has grown into a major gathering point for regulators, policymakers, investors, fintech entrepreneurs and financial services professionals, according to BVI Finance. The event has earned recognition on the global conference calendar and drawn international attention to the BVI's role in digital assets and finance.
Elise Donovan, Chief Executive Officer of BVI Finance, said the conference has exceeded its original ambition to attract serious international participation while offering something distinct. "The conversations taking place here are relevant well beyond the BVI, and we want to continue creating an environment where the people shaping digital finance can engage directly with one another and address the questions that matter most to the industry," Donovan said.
Smith said organisers look forward to building on relationships and opportunities created over the past two years as they prepare for the 2027 edition.
