About 50 people gathered at Isaac Boynes Ballpark in St. Croix on Wednesday night for a town hall called by Senator Angel Bolques to discuss the operations of the Department of Sports, Parks and Recreation.
The turnout was significantly lower than the 500 residents who had petitioned Bolques for the hearing. Bolques described the meeting as a "meaningful discussion," and told attendees that "our recreational spaces matter."
The senator said he plans to follow up directly with the DSPR about the concerns that were raised during the town hall.
