A 21-year-old St. Croix resident is due in Superior Court on Thursday morning to answer to two felony cases linked to a July 7 burglary and vehicle theft, while simultaneously awaiting trial for an unrelated commercial break-in at which he was released on pretrial conditions.
Deshawn Henley received the dual criminal charges on Wednesday afternoon from the Virgin Islands Department of Justice. He faces Third-Degree Burglary, Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle, Grand Larceny, and Property Destruction in connection with the July 7, 2026 incidents. The two cases were filed three minutes apart and stem from Virgin Islands Police Department investigations.
Henley will appear before Superior Court Magistrate Christopher M. Timmons, Sr. at 9:00 a.m. Thursday in Courtroom 216 at the R.H. Amphlett Leader Justice Center in Kingshill for an Advice of Rights hearing. The magistrate will decide whether to revoke Henley's existing pretrial release conditions in light of these new allegations.
In August, Henley was arrested for breaking into Cheeseburger in Paradise on St. Croix's East End. At that hearing, Magistrate Timmons set bail at $25,000. Henley posted $1,500 in cash to a third-party custodian, with the remainder unsecured, and was released on pretrial conditions.
Thursday's appearance represents Henley's fourth and fifth active felony matters within 17 months on St. Croix. In May 2025, police apprehended him after tracking a stolen 2017 Gold Kia Sportage near Morning Star using Apple AirPods locator software. Officers found a destroyed driver's door handle, stripped ignition wiring, and a backpack containing $1,197 in cash.
