The BVI Airports Authority will run emergency simulation exercises at Auguste George International Airport in Anegada and Virgin Gorda International Airport between October 7 and November 17, 2026.

The drills are required under aviation regulations and will test operational procedures, emergency response times, and the performance of airport staff and external agencies. All exercises will take place during normal airport operating hours.

The public should expect a noticeable increase in emergency services activity around both airports during the simulation period. The Authority said it will issue public announcements on the day of each exercise to prevent alarm.

The exercises are part of the Authority's ongoing compliance with the Overseas Territories Aviation Requirements (OTAR) and international aviation standards.
