The Virgin Islands Recovery and Development Agency has activated all six lighting poles at A.O. Shirley Recreation Ground in Road Town, marking the completion of electrical installation work.

The agency announced the milestone on Tuesday, October 6, 2026. Each of the new poles reaches approximately 30 metres, or nearly 100 feet, into the air. With power now flowing to the fixtures, the project has moved into its testing phase.

No Limit Construction undertook the installation as part of a broader upgrade programme for the territory's flagship sports facility. The RDA described the energising of the poles as a significant advancement in the overall project timeline.

The work carried a contract value of $409,837.67.
