The US Virgin Islands Department of Labor said Friday it is working through a backlog of unpaid unemployment insurance and workers' compensation benefits. Eligible claimants can expect to receive their checks between October 26 and 30.

The UI Division is managing the flow of outstanding unemployment payments, while the Workers' Compensation Administration has completed processing of benefit checks for those who qualify.
