Worldwide Travel Staffing has filed a lawsuit against the Government Hospital and Health Facilities Corporation, claiming Schneider Regional Medical Center has not paid invoices since October 2019.

The company filed a civil complaint in Superior Court alleging breach of contract under a 2014 Master Staffing Agreement. According to the lawsuit, Schneider Regional's last payment to Worldwide was nearly $75,000 in October 2019. The hospital then stopped paying despite continued weekly invoices from the staffing firm.

Worldwide says it is owed $166,846.90. The debt is accumulating interest at roughly $500 per week, the company claims. In January 2026, a hospital accounts payable staff member acknowledged the debt and promised a payment update, but no follow-up came, according to the complaint.

The lawsuit seeks compensatory damages, pre- and post-judgement interest, court costs and attorneys' fees.

This is the second major staffing firm lawsuit against the territory's public hospitals in recent weeks. Days before filing against Schneider Regional, Worldwide also asked the court to enforce a $12 million judgement against Juan F. Luis Hospital, which the company says has owed money for over a decade.

The USVI's public healthcare system has faced chronic funding shortages for years. In 2024, medical staffing firm Pafford announced it was leaving the territory after accumulating unpaid invoices made continued operations impossible. Despite emergency capital injections to vendors over the years, many remain unpaid years or even decades after providing services to the hospitals.
