Pastor Claude O. Skelton-Cline, host of the radio programme Honestly Speaking, has challenged the National Democratic Party to confront Hon Myron V. Walwyn over his loyalty to the organisation, arguing that party officials are unwilling to demand clarity on his political intentions.
Speaking on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, Skelton-Cline pointed to Walwyn's absence from NDP radio broadcasts and the party's newly launched podcast as evidence of distance between the legislator and the party. He suggested the party leadership should require Walwyn, who represents the Sixth District, to publicly state his true political position.
"The NDP, with its lacklustre leadership and its cowardliness, would not even demand, with some set timeline, that the member of the Sixth declare where he really is," Skelton-Cline said. He added that party officials may be reluctant to pose such questions because they fear the answers they might receive.
Walwyn's standing within the NDP has shifted since April 2026, when he was defeated by Hon Melvin M. Turnbull in the race for Deputy Chair during the party convention. Earlier, in 2025, Walwyn had formed The Alliance alongside Turnbull and Hon Stacy R. Mather. Mather has since joined the Virgin Islands Party government, while Turnbull secured the Deputy Chair role.
Skelton-Cline also raised concerns about former legislator Mark H. Vanterpool and his People's Leadership Movement, suggesting they are working to build a coalition government that could include dissident NDP members. He identified the Sixth District as one of the seats Vanterpool's movement is targeting. Skelton-Cline accused the NDP leadership of sidestepping the issue rather than addressing it directly with Walwyn.
