Two faith leaders in the British Virgin Islands have voiced strong objections to a Halloween gathering organised by the youth wing of the National Democratic Party.
The celebration, titled A Halloween Treat Fest, is set for October 31, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Noel Lloyd Positive Action Movement Park in Road Town. The NDP has officially endorsed the event, according to promotional material circulated online.
Apostle R. Tasha Toussaint took to Facebook on October 20, 2026, to express her distress over the gathering. On her page The Alabaster Box, she characterised Halloween as "a celebration of the demonic kingdom" and warned that during this season the barrier separating the spiritual realm from the physical one becomes "very porous." Toussaint further contended that demonic covenants are renewed during this period through blood-seeking rituals, and she called on the territory to "protect our children and return to our spiritual foundation."
Theresa Felix raised parallel objections on social media, questioning the wisdom of promoting Halloween in a community already battling "occultic spirits, divination, oppression, suppression and idolatry." She appealed directly to NDP chairman Honourable Marlon A. Penn to push event organisers toward a community-centred alternative that would not "attracting more witchcraft and the demonic over the territory."
Felix stressed that "spiritual warfare is real" and urged residents to "draw a line and decide what we stand for as a people."
