The British Virgin Islands has secured a spot in the top 10 Caribbean and Atlantic islands category at the 2026 Condé Nast Traveller UK Readers' Choice Awards, the tourism authority announced on Saturday.
The honour reflects votes cast by the magazine's international readership, who rated the territory based on their travel experiences and impressions. Tourism officials credited the award to the BVI's draw for visitors seeking sailing, pristine shorelines, marine life, cultural experiences and the laid-back island lifestyle the destination offers.
"We are thrilled to announce that the British Virgin Islands have been named a winner of the 2026 Condé Nast Traveller UK Readers' Choice Awards, in the Top 10 Caribbean & Atlantic Islands category," the BVI tourism team said in a statement.
The accolade represents the latest in a series of international recognitions for the territory's tourism sector. Officials view the award as evidence of the BVI's competitive standing in the global travel market and its appeal to prospective visitors.
"We are honoured to be recognized for this wonderful achievement and pleased to celebrate among our teams and partners in a continued effort to maintain BVI as a top destination," the tourism team added.
The award underscores the contributions of tourism operators, hotels, restaurants, guides and marketing professionals across the islands. As the territory works to expand its visitor base and refine its tourism offerings, it continues to showcase its distinctive mix of water sports, natural scenery, heritage and service to travellers in key markets worldwide.
